No.8 White Oak Plaque

Well! What do you think of that plaque profile folks? 

While I was mulling different options that I liked, my wife, daughter and grand daughter walked into my shop. After showing them the half dozen or so I had narrowed my favorites down to, they unanimously chose this one. 

So, being the...ahem...smart man that I am, I didn't argue.

Nice choice, huh?! I give them all the credit.

I cut this plaque out of white oak of all things!

I can't tell you how hard it is to find that species with that kind of figuring.

I was lucky to find this, and No.4's plaque, on the same day.

I particularly like the mahogany blade in this piece;

I think it's my favorite of them all.
