No.4 All Black Walnut

Early in my career as a woodworker I was tasked with building a

reception desk, and plinths, entirely out of black walnut,

and I have been in love with this species ever since; I think it's beautiful!

Early on in this project,

I decided I wanted to do at least two live edge plaques, 

and later, when I saw this slab of raw wood,

I knew it was going to be the first one.

I wanted to do it justice by using a single species again.

This piece is finished with six rubbed coats of marine varnish.
