No.7 Red Coolibah Plaque

This piece is certainly unique in that it is impossible to duplicate.

While I don't intend to, I could make an effort to

replicate any of the other plaques,

but even replication is impossible with this one.


Whoever gets this will truly have a one-of-kind piece.


I've only seen live edge red coolibah burls once in my life,

and to my regret I only acquired one example.

Damn!


I sifted through a bin of maybe fifty or so,

and this was the largest I could find,

And...

it happened to have that arrowhead shape.

Perfect!


I've since learned that the burls are typically

turned on a lathe to make bowls.

Apparently this application is quite unusual!

I'm not surprised; this burl was

very tricky to work with.
